The Antares Vision Tablets and Capsules Inspector is an automatic standalone machine designed to inspect pharmaceutical products at a high throughput with resolution up to 50 μm. An eight channels rotary double-drum system, handles products by holding them in position by means of a vacuum system which enables the images to be acquired on the entire surface. Detection of even the smallest defect or imperfection is guaranteed by up to 8 color high resolution cameras acquiring up to 16 high resolution images per product.

Our Visual Rotating Inspection are inline and standalone machines designed by Antares Vision to inspect a wide range of glass or plastic medical containers for liquids (such as solutions, suspensions, emulsions and oil-based products), powder or lyophilized drugs.
Our Visual Rotating Inspectors are made of four product families and ten different models to cover all inspection needs. The vast set includes machines able to inspect volumes from 1 ml to 1000 ml, ranging from the inspection of Small Volume Parenterals (vials, ampoules, cartridges, syringes) to Large Volume Parenterals (such as medical bottles or Blow Fill Seal), the change of container gripper pads can be done without using tools and height adjustment of carousel is fully automatic.

- Accurate: it detects reflective and opaque particles inside the products up to 20 μm of dimension

THE ONLY INSPECTION
IN CLASSIFIED AREAS
We have developed a stand-alone machine to detect raised stoppers on Lyophilized vials under Laminar Flow conditions, ranging from Grade-A in Grade-C cleanrooms, or sterile product manufacturing environments. It is a unique, compact, stand-alone solution, designed to be either installed in a new line or retrofitted on to an existing one.
Stoppers can either be insufficiently pushed-down or, they can pop-up later, this results in a stopper that is not properly seated on the vial collar with the risk of air-inflow and contamination of the vial’s inner air space. Our AV Raised Stopper Inspection machine addresses this «uncontrolled area» for a lyophilized product between stoppering and capping, mitigating this issue by rejecting poorly stoppered vials just before capping.

Equipped with innovative technological patents, our AV LYO-CHECK allows the perfect inspection of lyophilized tablet thanks to lighting systems, to a dedicated verification of the integrity of the container and to the use of a spectroscopic technology that guarantees the perfect sterility of the bottle contents. The inspection carousel of the LYO-CHECK machine is designed according to a patented “column-free” system, which ensures greater freedom of positioning of the inspection stations and easy maintenance.
The machine belongs to a range of equipment exceeding up to 600 containers/minute. The reject verification system is based on “fail-safe” principle which ensures that containers recognized as defective will not reach the exit channel of good products.

- Easy to use: the carousel has a fully automatic eight adjustment and is designed with external telescopic columns to allow easy access for both maintenance and cleaning

In 2017 Antares Vision was awarded an important grant from the European Commission, within the EU Horizon 2020’s SME instrument framework, to develop a new technology for the inspection of lyophilized pharma products for injection: the LYO-CHECK machine project.
Since the lyophilized form is set to become the most widely used in the production of high added-value preparations for injection, the increase in product quality and production output is a current top priority, that can be achieved only by the combination of different factors and improvement strategies, which are being taken into account in the development of the LYO-CHECK machine. The quality-control inspection of products in lyophilized form poses anyway peculiar challenges, thus creating the need for an innovative dedicated system which is totally different from the ones so far commonly applied to inspect parenteral products in liquid form.

Our Rotating CCIT Inspection Systems (ICON) are inline and standalone machines designed by Antares Vision to inspect a wide range of glass and plastic medical containers for liquids (water-like, suspensions, emulsions and oily products), powders and lyophilized products, covering the full range from Small Volume Parenterals (ampoules, vials, cartridges) to Large Volume parenterals (glass or BFS bottles).
Throughput is up to 24.000 units/h.

MULTIPLE LEAK DETECTION TECHNOLOGIES AVAILABLE:
- Vacum decay leak detection VDLD – it complies with all containers and product contents;
- Pressure decay leak detection PDLD – same compliance as VDLD, it is privileged for oily products;
- Head space analysis HSA – it applies to products with a modified atmosphere in the headspace (Vacuum, Nitrogen), using a Laser and a Receiver. Typically on glass containers in the Pharma industry;
- High Voltage Leak Detection HVLD – it is actually available in COMBO MACHINES (EVO).

Our combo solution owns to a family of automatic inspection machines which are designed to inspect pharmaceutical sterile injectable products at different throughputs of up to 600 units/min, which meet the widest range of requirements and regulatory obligations. Every machine is widely configurable for off-line or in-line operations. The visual inspection technology is well proven, based on high resolution, high speed digital CMOS color or b/w cameras, integrated with the ultimate performances of AV VisionBoxes and LightBoxes.


Combo machines provide, in addition, the most suitable CCI technology to detect inappropriate container sealing in compliance or even exceeding the obligation of GMP regulations, we provide the widest range available on the market:
- Vacuum decay monitoring (VDLD). Probably the only one applicable to almost all primary packaging and products, grant a perfectly uniform testing of 100% the container surface
- Pressure decay leak detection (PDLD) – similar to VD, is based on pressure decay monitoring, typically used for oily products
- High voltage leak detection (HVLD) – Based on high voltage, is applicable to small volumes mainly and typically to glass ampoules
- HGA – A process analytical technology providing the most effective control of the O2 content in the head space of lyophilized products
